Arguably the greatest anti-hero in the history of electric guitar, Kurt Cobain always liked Fender Jaguar and Mustang guitars, and it was his idea to fuse them into a single instrument, the Jag-Stang. He conveyed his ideas for the instrument to the Fender Custom Shop, which produced a couple prototype models in 1993, one of which the Nirvana singer\/guitarist played on a few brief occasions late in his career. Fender carried on with plans for the instrument after Cobain’s death in April 1994, and Japanese-made production-model Jag-Stangs were introduced in early 1996.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular Jag-Stang is “Crafted in Japan” from the second run in the early 2000’s. It has been played and cosmetically shows dings and dents from use, as well as some very faint beginnings of fret wear. Nearly all the examples I’ve seen have a White Pearloid pickguard, but this one looks great with the Tortoise. An EMG humbucker has been installed in the bridge position wired to the Volume and Tone controls. The neck pickup and slider switches are disconnected. A Fender gig bag is included. Like all our used \/ vintage gear this has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. Arguably the greatest anti-hero in the history of electric guitar, Kurt Cobain always liked Fender Jaguar and Mustang guitars, and it was his idea to fuse them into a single instrument, the Jag-Stang. He conveyed his ideas for the instrument to the Fender Custom Shop, which produced a couple prototype models in 1993, one of which the Nirvana singer\/guitarist played on a few brief occasions late in his career. Fender carried on with plans for the instrument after Cobain’s death in April 1994, and Japanese-made production-model Jag-Stangs were introduced in early 1996.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular Jag-Stang is “Crafted in Japan” from the second run in the early 2000’s. It has been played and cosmetically shows dings and dents from use, as well as some very faint beginnings of fret wear. Nearly all the examples I’ve seen have a White Pearloid pickguard, but this one looks great with the Tortoise. An EMG humbucker has been installed in the bridge position wired to the Volume and Tone controls. The neck pickup and slider switches are disconnected. A Fender gig bag is included. Like all our used \/ vintage gear this has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. Just in on trade! Make'n Music is happy to have this Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster electric guitar for sale! It's a 1-off piece based on a Time Machine Series instrument with Vintage '57 Strat specs, but hot-rodded with upgrades for improved playability, tone and functionality. It's a lightweight guitar that plays and sounds great. Just like you would imagine a great vintage 1950's Strat to play like - only better - because the Fender Custom Shop is building some of the greatest sounding, most consistent instruments Fender has ever made. This Strat is light, loud and lively thanks to a lightweight Alder body. The 5-way switch is wired to a set of Hand-wound Custom Shop pickups (Fat 50’s in the neck\/middle and a Fat 60’s in the bridge) for excellent tone. The 1 piece Maple neck is fat and beefy with its '57 Soft “V” profile. Thanks to a flatter 9.5\" radius and 6105 frets it plays like a dream too, with nice low action. It's a 1-off piece based on a Time Machine Series instrument with Vintage '57 Strat specs, but hot-rodded with upgrades for improved playability, tone and functionality. It's a lightweight guitar that plays and sounds great. Just like you would imagine a great vintage 1950's Strat to play like - only better - because the Fender Custom Shop is building some of the greatest sounding, most consistent instruments Fender has ever made. This Strat is light, loud and lively thanks to a lightweight Alder body. The 5-way switch is wired to a set of Hand-wound Custom Shop pickups (Fat 50’s in the neck\/middle and a Fat 60’s in the bridge) for excellent tone. This Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Super Relic was designed specifically to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Make'n Music (Est. 1973) and is part of our exclusive Master Vintage Players Series (MVP) Limited Edition. These special instruments are custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player's piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular guitar is based on the Fender Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster, but modified cosmetically with \"F\" tuners, 4-bolt “F” neck plate and a Bullet truss rod to give it a “1973 Stratocaster” vibe. A special hand-distressed, Heavy Relic finish package replicates decades of road worn wear and tear. The Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, but they play like a dream. Easier chording, faster leads and no fretting out when you go for the big bends thanks to the 1\u0026amp;11\/16\" nut width, flatter 9.5\" fingerboard radius and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Bullet Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor added tonal versatility a push button switch is hidden discretely in the center of the volume knob. The Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, but they play like a dream. Easier chording, faster leads and no fretting out when you go for the big bends thanks to the 1\u0026amp;11\/16\" nut width, flatter 9.5\" fingerboard radius and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too! Obviously it shows some wear as it has been played but it gives the guitar a real, authentic vintage vibe. No serious issues, damage or repairs. Just honest play wear. The frets have flat spots but don't need replacing and have room for a level and crown when necessary (plays fine now).These original Vintage Reissues are quite collectable now.
