Just in on consignment! The Z 28 from Dr Z Amps is a 6V6 based tube guitar combo amplifier using the same EF86 preamp circuit used in the Route 66, M12, and KT45 amplifiers. This matching of the EF-86 front end with a pair of fixed bias 6V6 power tubes yields an authority not heard before from a dual 6V6 design. The sweet sparkle of the 6V6 is more of an American sound that some have described as \"Brown Tolexed Deluxe\". Rated at approximately 22 watts, the Z-28 fits under the Route 66 in terms of wattage, and it can easily generate smooth, full distortion at a very useable volume level. Dial in a clear, sweet cleans as well as biting crunch with just 3 knobs. Like other 3 knob Dr Z amps, the unique Bass, and Treble controls function normally until 12:00 and add gain once turned past noon. A stout, tube rectified power supply gives the Z28 a tight low end and makes it very pedal friendly as well. You won’t find the typical short comings of dual 6V6 amps here. Just in on consignment! The Z 28 from Dr Z Amps is a 6V6 based tube guitar combo amplifier using the same EF86 preamp circuit used in the Route 66, M12, and KT45 amplifiers. This matching of the EF-86 front end with a pair of fixed bias 6V6 power tubes yields an authority not heard before from a dual 6V6 design. The sweet sparkle of the 6V6 is more of an American sound that some have described as \"Brown Tolexed Deluxe\". Rated at approximately 22 watts, the Z-28 fits under the Route 66 in terms of wattage, and it can easily generate smooth, full distortion at a very useable volume level. Dial in a clear, sweet cleans as well as biting crunch with just 3 knobs. Like other 3 knob Dr Z amps, the unique Bass, and Treble controls function normally until 12:00 and add gain once turned past noon. A stout, tube rectified power supply gives the Z28 a tight low end and makes it very pedal friendly as well. You won’t find the typical short comings of dual 6V6 amps here. To commemorate his company’s 25th anniversary, Dr Z has decided to make a limited run of 50 Carmen Ghia heads in the look and size of the original.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original Carmen Ghia heads were built from repurposed Hammond reverb units. Using these small chassis and vintage transformers, Dr Z was able to build a unique tube guitar amplifier that had its own voice. The distinct sound of the Carmen Ghia had a lot to do with custom circuitry- including the phase inverter and the EQ network- as well as features like the materials used for the output transformer and the use of a global negative feedback loop. The success of this amp allowed the company to grow and establish its core principles: making distinctive designs, with simple features, at an affordable price.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 25th Anniversary Carmen Ghia has the exact same tonal character as the regular Carmen Ghia, but comes in a much smaller box and includes new features like 16 ohm speaker output jack and Master Volume. This Post Phase Inverter Master Volume allows more control over volume levels without sacrificing any tone as well as more usable clean headroom. Dial the Master Volume all the way up and you’ll be taking it completely out of the circuit. The variety of tones and sounds found in this rather modest looking amp is what leaves so many people floored from the first note.
