Vintage 1945 Martin 000-28 - Pre-War / Wartime with Brazilian/Adirondack/Herringbone - USED!
Martin Guitars 1945 000-28
Pre War / Wartime features with Herringbone!
Brazilian Rosewood / Adirondack Spruce!
Used / Vintage Acoustic Guitar
Used! This stunning vintage Martin 000-28 is a sight and sound to behold! It’s a well-loved, well-played, well-maintained Pre-War / WarTime example from 1945 with features typical for the era. These features include Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Adirondack Spruce top with Herringbone purfling and tapered bracing, Ebony bridge and fingerboard with Maple bridge plate, Mahogany neck and Brazilian Rosewood peghead overlay. This guitar has been freshly serviced with “the works!” including a neck reset, refret, new bridge, and bone nut and saddle. I am not sure if the bridge plate is original but it is small and maple and appears to be in good shape (we did not replace this). There are some repaired / cleated cracks – at least one on the top and several on the back. All repaired cracks are solid. I cannot confirm if there is any over spray - if there is I suspect this would have been done long ago as none of the visible wear appears to be under the finish. The neck is incredibly comfortable with a 1-11/16” nut width and worn, soft V profile. The tone is rich, detailed, and balanced. This is the perfect player / collector guitar. A well-worn example with tone that has been played into the guitar for nearly 80 years! And it is now freshly and professionally serviced - Ready for another 80 years. Don’t miss this opportunity!!! A recent-ish Geib-style Martin Hard Case is included!
